Escondido Observation

1) On the way down to pack today, I saw a "Sprinter" train (the passenger train getting ready to start service between Escondido and Oceanside. Cool design.

2) On the way back up to Monrovia, I stopped by Peterson's Donut Corner, and had a chocolate donut with chocolate sprinkles. Still warm from the cooker. You know, if heaven has donuts, they would taste like these.

I didn't get pictures, but the trainsets are Simmens-built Diesel Multiple Units, (The Coaster line, which is the other Regional rail system San Diego Northern Railroad runs, uses GM-EMD locomotives and Bombardier-built bi-level coaches like Metrorail does. For that matter, Coaster and Metrorail share a service yard at Camp Pendelton.)

Before you leave this area, you need to go to Donut Man in Glendora. I should have recommended them to you a while ago, when they were doing their fresh strawberry donuts. I am not sure if they are doing their fresh peach donuts yet, but they are not to be missed. Here is their address with some reviews and comments:
