(no subject)

Just got back from a service call on Vashon Island. (Note, the Puget Sound definition of "Island" seems to be "Steep-sided hunk of rock with lots of trees on top")

On the way back, enjoying the ferry ride across the sound, I realized something

I love it up here. It's colder and wetter than I'm used to, but I utterly adore this area.

Enjoy it.. I envy you. I miss northern climes like nobodys business.

My mom's favorite stupid criminal story used to be about the guy who robbed the bank on Vashon Island. The cops just waited for him at the ferry terminal. *grins*

Glad to hear it. I've had thoughts of moving that far north myself. Biggest no was the rain. But the cold? I'm of strong german and russian stock. I'd love it.

Where am I instead? Tucson. Hell's back hard. (Phoenix being Hell) Though the temps are Finally starting to drop below 90's every once in a while.

Shhh... You're not supposed to tell anyone.

Looking forward to seeing if you still think you love it here after tomorrow [g].

Seattle is a beautiful city surrounded by lots and lots of natural beauty. If I had to leave where I am living now, I probably would move to Seattle. Unfortunately, my husband hates being cold [and he lived most of his life in Indiana, Ohio and Chicago?] so he probably wouldn't want to live there. But I hope to visit there again when I am free to travel. I am so glad that you are enjoying your life there. It helps that you have a loving woman and the prospect of having your daughter there with you soon.

The real proof that you love it there is when you have lived through a Seattle winter and still enjoy your life there.

Is the "completely surrounded by water for part of the day" strictly optional, then?
