Dear Gods.....

Black pudding ice cream unveiled

"An ice cream company has unveiled its latest mouth watering flavour - made with black pudding.

Dowson's Dairies Ltd of Clayton-le-Dale, Blackburn, Lancs, will serve it next month at the annual Black Pudding Festival in Bacup.

"Most people think we are a bit wacky but with the advent of bacon and egg flavour down south, it shows there is a market," said John Gardner of Dowson's.

The ice cream has small pieces of black pudding like chocolate chip ice cream."

Basically it's blood poured into a sausage casing with a filler, and then cooked until it congeals.

Blood pudding! Well, why didn't they say?

Local terminology.

Usually there's more to it than just blood, there's flour and spices too. Actually it's not so bad, it's just no more suitable for ice cream than, say, foie gras.

Oh don't let Padraig near the ice cream machine now...

What's wrong with peanut butter & chocolate (or nutella) ice cream??

(I'm not into weird ice cream flavours, thanks)

Those sound good to me... I'm the one who gobs chunky PB into vanilla ice cream, OK?

Next time I bring a little butane stove to an event, I'm thinking Nutella Crepes, something suggested by a nice artist lady in Lebanon whose LJ I also read. Yumbo.

That sounds good. There's a crepe place in the Santa Anita mall food court that does crepes stuffed with nutella, slivered almonds, and bananas. Met with both mine AND Little Bit's approval :-)

Squee!

Oh, uh oh, unsquee. What are the chances of getting to see baby girl before she comes home with you, way up north?
