Just when you think the universe can't get weirder.....

NASCAR romance books a sign of the Apocalypse?

"Though you do, on occasion, get gems like this: "And this time when they kissed it wasn't gentle, it wasn't passive, it was a kiss that instantly proved the two of them were like high-octane fuel, their flesh sparking off each other in such a way that Lance felt the pure caveman urge to pick her up and carry her to bed. Except he wasn't in his own motor coach and so all he could do kiss her, snuggling his hips up against her, showing her what she did to him and how he wanted more."

Gentlemen, start your engines, indeed! I wonder which is more common: Thinking about gasoline while having sex, or thinking about sex while pumping gasoline?"

Well...I guess they thought Harlequin Romances are trashy...NASCAR is trashy...we can put these two yin and yang trashies together and see what they spawn!

"Dunking a basketball two-handed while gambling" sounds like something [profile] pablobastard would attempt.

Lots of women watch NASCAR. Lots of women read trashy romance novels. Seems like a win-win marketing decision to me. (Come on, there's a built-in market right there in Lakeside/Santee/El Cajon/etc.)
