Observation.........

Why does it seem that most of the people I know into knitting right now are also poly??

I wonder why the overlap..........(chuckle) Excuse to make LOTS of handmade socks??

Interesting. Do you suppose most crocheters are mono? (My mom, my grammy, my sister and I are all both mono and crocheters, if the data helps.)

Personally, I swing both ways - knit AND crochet.

Crochet uses one stick. Knitting uses at least two . . . and [livejournal.com profile] celticdragonfly has used up to nine at a time. Five is the usual max, though.

See, I have no moral opposition to how many sticks one uses; I just find it gets WAY too complicated for me to keep up.

I can really work that one stick though.

Excellent reason to be mono, then!

'Cause yeah, it gets complicated to keep up. And you have to like that.

[identity profile] celticdragonfly.livejournal.com 2006-09-27 02:56 am (UTC)(link)
'Cause we're really cool?

We know the value of something that may seem hard to do, but if you pay attention and stick to it, you get something really special that just can't be duplicated in the everyday world?

We're naturally attracted to complexity?

Yarn, the ties that bind, it's all good.

Have you killed this week?

Have you tried to kill this week?

Ive been working on the same pair since Friday. Just turned the heel of the second sock.

[identity profile] kiarapanther.livejournal.com 2006-09-27 10:16 pm (UTC)(link)
And have you gotten your dossier yet? Yarn monkey says she has sent them all now but still nothing in my inbox. Im already in contact with my target and heard one message from my assassin on LJ but I know several people still havent gotten their dossier and Im afraid of not beign able to forward anythign on past one point either side of me.

[identity profile] celticdragonfly.livejournal.com 2006-09-28 02:24 pm (UTC)(link)
I was one of the lucky ones who got my dossier on Saturday. My socks are already on their way to the UK.

I did save the full list of who-has-who with email addresses, so if you need to reach the victim of your victim or something, let me know.

[identity profile] kiarapanther.livejournal.com 2006-09-28 03:38 pm (UTC)(link)
oh thank you! I got worried when I saw she took the list down.

Foot of second sock started. Plannign on marathon knitting tonight to finish it, for mailing Friday.

I've been knitting since long before I had heard of poly... long before I even had a boyfriend. And I'm still not sure I *am* poly.

But it's an interesting theory :)

[identity profile] kiarapanther.livejournal.com 2006-09-27 03:54 am (UTC)(link)
LOL

Maybe its just taht a lot of your friends are poly and its getting towards christmas time. (well they said knitting was fast...hmmm)

[identity profile] celticdragonfly.livejournal.com 2006-09-27 08:51 pm (UTC)(link)
No! Don't use the "C" word! This year I am NOT busting my butt knitting for Christmas. I did last year. Not this time. I need a break, and some more ME work. I just finished a major dress for my daughter, after all.

Knitting has had a major renaissance in the past couple of years. Most of the knitters I know are mono, but a significant percentage of the polyfolk I know are knitters.

[identity profile] henglaar.livejournal.com 2006-09-28 08:58 am (UTC)(link)
Because poly relationships are so close-knit?

[identity profile] karenbynight.livejournal.com 2006-10-02 10:52 pm (UTC)(link)
In both cases, it helps to have some skill at multi-tasking?

I'd be interested to know if all poly knitters are the type who have multiple knitting projects going at one time.
