Chicken Groupies

A flock of Chick-fil-A faithful

"The line of people willing to wait through the night outside Chick-fil-A was clear evidence of the incredible marketing power of a finely turned chicken sandwich - and the irresistible draw of a crisp plate of waffle fries.

The $26,000 in free food probably didn't hurt much, either.

"There are groupies who travel from one opening to the next," said Jerry Johnston, senior manager of public relations at Chick-fil-A headquarters in Atlanta. "And it's not uncommon to have folks in line who've done these three or four times."

The lucky first 100 in line will get a free coupon good for a free meal every week for the next year - a $260 value.

Some came with tents, sleeping bags, lawn furniture and portable generators."

There may not be a Sonic near SD, but there IS a Chik-Fil-A in Chula Vista! I've only eaten there once, but it was pretty darned good.

The Krispy Kreme at Sports Arena is being/has been replaced by a Chik-Fil-A. I haven't been down that way in several weeks, so I'm not sure if it's open yet or still "coming soon".

That's interesting, given how many sports games are played on Sundays, and Chik-Fil-A's policies on not being open that day.

No Sonics, Hardees or Chunkachickens here... :P

So, speaking of chicken groupies, have you tried KFC's new 'breakfast in a bowl"?? (or was it hardees that I saw that?? Wendy's perhaps??)
