Micro and Mega Food Fauna (Pizza Creatures)

We'll take a break from the occasional Mutant Candy report to do a Mutant Food report

Namely Tontio's Mega Pizza Rolls

Now, Tonio's Pizza Rolls have to be one of my guiltest of guilty pleasures. They have almost no value what so ever, and the cheese in them triggers my milkfat problem, which can cause an IBS attack if I over-indulge.

But damnit, I happen to really like "Pizza Creatures" And really missed them in Doha.

When I got back to the states, I found the new "Mega" Pizza Rolls, which are twice the size of the regular ones. Okay, worth a shot.

And you know what, they're not bad. They seemed a little tougher and more chewy though, since I suspect the wrappers are thicker.

Still, I suspect I could get used to these too.........

Soooo... How does a Mega Pizza Roll actually differ from a Calzone?

Thought not.

Mega Pizza Roll = Mini Calzone.

Regular Pizza Roll = Micro Calzone

Pizza Rolls and Mega Pizza Rolls I can handle.

Lean Pizza Rolls gotta go, I don't eat these when I want healthier food.

Mexican Pizza Rolls gotta go also. If I want Mexican food I'll get Mexican food. Pizza Rolls should taste like pizza.

Hmmm ... I sense an eruption of junk food in my near future ;)

Since I've noticed that the REGULAR sized ones sometimes don't cook to full crispiness, I'd theorize that the texture problem may be directly related to the additional mass that has to be heated from sub-freezing to crispy yumminess...
