We just got a holiday tree here at work........

......and, of course, the network techs are trying to figure out how to put it on the network.

An x10 controller ought to do the trick.

If you want to get creative a software interface written in something simple like python... with a web front end all rigged to an rs232 (or usb if you're really fly) hardware voltage interface.

Though, the ability to assign blink patterns via the network would be really cool, but that would require someone build a logic interface with a few Radio Shack controller chips.

Did you decorate it with colored jewel cases, old AOL cd's, and light it either fibre optically, or with LED's??? Enquiring minds and all that :)

I can't even get Jim's Airport card talking to the wireless router and these guys are putting a TREE on the network?!

[shaking head] If I were in a line of work, obviously, I'd be in the wrong one.
