patgund: Knotwork (B5 - Shadows (My Associates))

Random thought......

Just finished watching "Babylon 5 - Lost Tales - Voices in the Dark" tonight. Was not half bad. Was nice to see the station in better than her old glory, (as CGI have improved dramatically in 10 years).

The stories weren't bad - not the gut-wrenchers the best of the old series was, but not bad. I rather hope it's a go for the next DVD....

However, a thought crossed my mind....

The demon hitching a ride on the traveler from Earth, with Lockley's theory that they were cast to earth and forced to remain there....

What are demons? Fallen Angels.

What are angels?? Vorlons.

Could these "fallen angels" be depowered and corrupted vorlons, cut off from the rest of their race and forced to remain in an incorpeal state on Earth as a result. Would be another reason why the Vorlons created the concepts of faith and religion - not just so they would be recogized as angels, but to instill the rituals needed to force these debased ex-Vorlons back out of a person.....

How odd - Earth may be a penal colony for the last remaining First Ones........

I thought that demon's discourse positively reeked of Shadow style logic.

Well, the show was episodic and awfully slow and talky but maybe it will work, if only to get the opportunity to do more with the next release. Three or four speaking parts, a few extras and computer generated sets throughout, that's not a very expensive productio really. They could do it in Rob Caves' living room, couldn't they? [grin]

I'm pushing this DVD amongst the Browncoats, just as an example of "proof of concept". If it works for B5, it could work for Firefly. And we know that Joss and JMS are in communication with each other.

*Snicker* I was wondering how long it would be before Tony claimed HF ripped off B5.......(Speaking of Shadow-style logic)

Not all Vorlons were good. Ulkesh for example. The Vorlons that were under the control of the thirdspace aliens for another. I wouldn't be surprised if, early on, some Vorlons agreed with the Shadows......and found themselves "cast down from heaven" as a result.

I read from JMS where the computer-generated sets were kinda needed. Seems when they opened up the storage unit that the props and costumes were stored, they found a lot had been lost or stolen. Tracy Scroggin's uniform and a Starfury cockpit were about all they could use right away.

And I can see Joss doing something like this as well. :-)

The part that caused several gasps and a couple tears?? Lockley telling Sheridan that Franklin has joined G'Kar in exploring beyond the rim........very well done.

Yeah, I brought the DVD over to my Browncoats' scifi friday a couple of days ago, same reaction. And Zathras shoveling coal into the warp drive, belike. ;__;
