I spent all day at a site yesterday

I'm back at that site today. Doing data salvage.

See, the company's landlord had some contractors in to do drywalling.

The contractors didn't cover the computer equipment or server.

Which means a talc-fine grey gypsum dust got into everything.

We're seeing drive failures across the board.

It's a dirty, nasty, nightmare.

I've joked before that living in Seattle makes me feel like a conservative at times.

It also makes me feel downright dowdy too. IT people in kilts aside, it's almost like the entire city is in a race to define trendy and hip, fashionwise.

Yesterday I saw someone so mod, so trendy, so with it hip, counter-culture and body-modified, that I swear his sperm was more than likely pierced as well.

Well, it looks like, barring anything weird happening, both Little Bit and myself will be at Heatherwyne's Medieval Marketplace on 24 November.

It's gonna be weird attending a Caidian event as a non-Caidian......especially since it's more than likely my last event in Caid for sometime to come. (I admit it's going to be nice to see Edric & Faizeh on the throne again, since I received my AoA from Edric's hands and my Dolphin from both of their hands. They may not be technically *my* crown anymore, but I do feel rather fond of them, (and, in a sense, since my Pelican is in fealty to them, I would suppose they still are my crown as well as that of An Tir's))

I really need to get more involved up here, but it's hard when I don't know anyone up here. *grumblebother*
