From Neatorama

"The Portland Mercury, an entertainment magazine in Portland, Oregon, asked readers to take a poll about what they’d like to see on the cover of an issue. Artist Andrew Zubko executed their vision with this magnificent illustration."
On the Ferry.....
Feb. 9th, 2008 11:07 amWhile on the M/V Tillkum this morning, approaching Vashon Island, I hear the following announcement over the PA:
"Attention all passengers, we are now arriving at Vashon Island, the undisputed centre of the universe. All auto passengers please return to your vehicles at this time....."
I think Fremont might disagree with them......

I've joked before that living in Seattle makes me feel like a conservative at times.
It also makes me feel downright dowdy too. IT people in kilts aside, it's almost like the entire city is in a race to define trendy and hip, fashionwise.
Yesterday I saw someone so mod, so trendy, so with it hip, counter-culture and body-modified, that I swear his sperm was more than likely pierced as well.

Bridges to nowhere....
Sep. 14th, 2007 12:41 amSeveral years ago I read about the bridge stubs and "ghost ramps" connecting WA-520 near the western start of the Evergreen Point Floating Bridge, to what would have been an expressway that was never built.
A couple days ago, I got to see them for myself.......
