As for getting involved in An Tir, it is like any interest you have, start getting their newsletter, pick an event that sounds like fun to you and go. When you are there, find your local baronial pavilion and introduce yourself. Find out when the local baronial [or shire or cantonial] meetings are and start going. Volunteer to help, especially doing grunt work. Once the ice is broken, you will start to get to know people and vice versa. Once that happens, you will be able to start volunteering for all the cool things also.
