patgundOkay,I've been in this job 4 months. That's 120 days. The probationary period is supposed to be 90 days, and can't be extended unless you're given written notice before the 90 days are up.
Okay, someone tell that to the administrator for this lab? Just before she goes off to a conference this weekend, she stops in to tell me things are great and wonderful......and that she plans to extend my probation another month.

This is due to "communication issues" To paraphrase Dr. B. Banzai, "The missing communication is in your head"! Psychic was *not* in my job description.
Talked with HR, who is pissed she hasn't turned in her review paperwork on me anyway. They said that while she can extend it, the fact she's doing som after the fact isn't proper. Friends in the labour board have another term for it - blatantly illegal. HR told me to document my concerns when she finally gets around to doing my review.
And I'm getting <b>really</B> pissed off with how she undermines my authority by constantly asking me to check things out w/ the previous systems administrator. Even though he's backed me up 99.99999% of the time.
I think people are right, she's been having microstrokes, her short-term memory is shot. Time to become "director emerius" and pass the reins t someone else.
Nahh....too much of a control freak. Grrr.
Gods the other person is acting even more skittish and weird towards me. (Shakes head in amusement.) Seems to think that Camin has what she wants from me, (a kid and child support), and is going to dangle me until I leave. (Sigh)
Had my last follow up. Almost completely recovered from surgery. Yay! <font size -1><i> ....and even got my "hanky panky" permissions :-) </i></font>
Dammed bloody annoyed. Gods I hope tomorrow is a half day.
