Useless....
Jan. 30th, 2002 11:15 amThe Shrub's "State of Disunion" address last night was useless. Keeps saying "We're at war", and won't declare the people captured as "Prisoners of War". Never mind this violates the Geneva Convention - what's one more treaty after the ABM treaty and Kyoto accords got shit canned?
And this war will go on for a long time - yeah, long enough to get his sorry ass re-elected. Or should that be "elected", since he was SELECTED for the job even though the majority of the people in the US didn't vote for him. Oh, that's right, his brother Jebbie-pooh stole it for him fair and square.
Amazing, in one year he's managed to trash the economy and undo 8 years of budget surpluses and economic successes. We're almost back to where Shrub the Elder left us when he left office.
So, who's next on the bombing hit parade? Iraq is my guess, because they dissed Papa Shrub.
Going after the assholes that attacked this country is the right and moral thing to do. However, if this is a war, then the people captured are prisonners of war and should be treated as such. Otherwise we lower ourselves to their level.
Amazing - the White House doesn't want to release any details about their involvement with Enron. If this had happened while Clinton was in office, the GOP would be screaming for his head! Oh, that's right, the GOP apologists *are* blaming it on Clinton. Despite the fact that 3/4ths of Enron's money went to the GOP and the Shrub got oodles of cash from his good buddy Enron CEO Lay.
Which is simular to what is happening in California. It was GOP Governor Pete Wilson and a GOP-led state government that "deregulated" the energy market in California, thereby giving Enron and others the right to jack the prices up enormously and short-shrift us. (While Enron's buddies in the White House and the EROC did jack shit to help us.). And now that we're stuck with the bills for this mess, the GOP blames Grey Davis for the aftermath of their mess. Bloody hypocrites.
