Well, saw Episode II sunday. Didn't suck nearly as badly as Episode I did. ("Senator" Jar-Jar aside....)

However, whoever wrote the romance scenes should have been shot, drowned, hung, drawn & quartered, and fed to particularly ill vultures. Blegh. And the actor playing Anakin wouldn't have been more wooden if you replaced all his blood with pine syrup. He didn't come across as "angst-ridden Jedi apprentice". He didn't come across as lovelorn and moody, he came across as creepy psycho stalker.

And let me get this straight. He goes off to rescue his mom, she dies in his arms, and he becomes the Jedi cusinart and kills off an entire tribe of Tusken Raiders, down to the women and children, and all Yoda can say is "in terrible pain he is". Hey, how about, oh, "Mass murderer he has become. Reject him we have. Hunt him down and bring to justice we will"????

And problem number two. (there's a lot of number two around.) The Jedi aren't encourged to love, marry, or have children. And Mace Windu mentions the Jedi's deep dark secret that they are losing their ability to feel the force. Well, gee, maybe it's the fact that you're not breeding for it, you stupid twit ???

Ah, genetics, a Jedi cares not for these things.

I did like Count Saruman....err, I mean Darth Summerisle, oops I ment Christopher Lee's character. Dooku, (yeah, with a name like Dooku I would have gone over to the dark side just for the name change), was a lot of fun to watch. Esp him using his lightsaber like a classical fencer, complete with saluting one's opponent before fighting. Nice touch.

Why the hell did Luke think Tattooine was the ass-end of space anyway? Seems like everyone goes though there at one point or another. Maybe Tattooine is the planetary version of Barstow - everyone goes though it, but few stop for very long.

Planet Barstow. How's that for an image?

Ninja Yoda was fun to watch though. All in all, not bad, but be prepared to wince during the romantic scenes - they're pretty cornball. The Maxfield Parrish background is nice though.
