What a day

Well, got jolted awake last night. Don't know why, but couldn't get to sleep afterwards for about two hours.

Got my car to the dealership. Failed smog. Turns out, I need a new catalytic converter. At least $400-$700, and my car can't be registered until it's installed. Bother.

Got to work, will be at work until 9pm or 10pm tonight. Clueless git wants me to work this weekend because she forgot monday is a holiday.

And I found out that someone I looked up to in the SCA, the founding Baron of Calafia, passed away this afternoon.

I'm amused. A batch of Christian fundies with no lives are bitching about the next Harry Potter book - because it comes out on June 21st, the Summer Solstice.

Debating the idea of going to TorCon, (This year's WorldCon, which is in Toranto, Canada this year.)

Pros
Never been to Canada.
Never been farther east than Dallas/Ft. Worth
Never been farther north than Humbolt Bay, CA
Would be an interesting vacation.

Cons
Money.
Arranging for passport
Getting plane tickets
Justifying the expense.
