Finished watching that silly adult DVD last night. (The erotic tales of canterbury). Costuming was decent, overall, (yeah, I'm a ren geek / SCAian, I'll notice and critique the period garb in a porno flick. Welcome to Caid, now get dressed......), and the backgrounds weren't terribly bad. The music shifted between quasi-period and this horrid 1970's do-wop with synthsizers.

However, I tended to fast forward though the sex scenes, and I was pondering why.

I suspect one of the major reasons I'm not overly into adult movies, (other than finding them pointless to watch alone, and the fact I'm more into written erotica than visual anyway), is simple. I tend to enjoy looking at women that actually look like women, rather than anorexic barbie dolls or underfed 12-year old boys.

This was made far worse with a quasi-period themed adult flick, because I kept looking at the people in these fairly decent costumes, and thinking to myself: "Gods they're skinny! Do they have consumption, or have they been starved and ill-treated during their pilgrimage??"

The SCA and Ren Faires have spoiled me for women that actually look good in period garb, rather than starving fashion modeloids tarted up in period clothing. I know the women I enjoy watching, both in and out of clothing. These weren't them.

Nice, nice, nice eye candy. (at least to those of us who are Victorian and/or Steampunk Erotica fans.)

Check out [livejournal.com profile] vintage_sex.

My thanks to [livejournal.com profile] aoniedesade for pointing this out.

At this time, I'd like to say hello to two old friends of mine who are also on LJ.

So hello to [livejournal.com profile] ophy, and her husband, [livejournal.com profile] presenze.
