1. What was (My Daughter's) birth like for you? Wow. I looked down, and there was this tiny little person (acessories not included, sold seperately), in the incubator. She was early, and so small, so very very small. And all I could say was "Hello little girl. I'm your taysk. I love you." I reached in my finger to touch her tiny little hand, and her fingers curled around mine, holding my finger in her hand.
I don't think she's ever let go.
2. If one of you cuddly Cthulhi ruled the world, which do you think it would be? Oh geez. Hard to say. While the basic model green one would be good for the job (hello
wotevillurks), the Goth one would just be too depressed and trendy to really do a good job at it. Okay, if we wanted to worship an unspeakable horror by smoking cloves and drinking absinthe until our souls rotted of their own accord, maybe. Summer Fun would be the major party animal, and would be too busy slamming down Mai Tais and singing dirty songs in enochian to really do a good job at it either. That leaves just Santa Cthulhu. He'd make lists of who's naughty and who needs improvement, and bring spoiled milk and brine cookies to all the people of the world. And then eat their souls.
3. Have you lost your faith in the Goddess, or has it simply changed? Lost my faith, not really. What I still have is a large amount of anger and fury directed towards Her that I'm still working though. She's used me as a cat toy for too long. Worse, she's used my friends and people I care about as cat toys as well. Enough already, we've got the stick, it's time for the carrot.
4. So, whats so great about the Kushiel(sp?) trilogy, anyway, and why do you reccomend them? ;) Well, the eroticism is such that you can get swept up in it, (or massively squicked), fairly easily. And I could say it's the way she turned the fantasy stereotype on their ear. I mean look, you have a heroine who's for all intents and purposes a temple prostitute, who likes sex, and who
needs pain as part of her pleasure. And a hero who's self-rightous, moralistic, and trys very hard to be chaste.
And I could say it's the marvelous tapestry she's made of Tere d'Ange.
But what actually gets me is the theological fantasy she's made of that world. Here's a world in which Yeshua ben Yaheva died on the cross, and was seen by the Jews as the Messiah. But His blood, mixed with the dust of the Earth and the tears of the Magdelane gave birth to Blessed Elua, who's message was so powerful that several Angels gave up their place in Heaven and that Yaheva's side to follow Elua. And that message was simple - love as thou whilt. Simple, but powerful enough that Angels flocked to His side, and only one of His Companions didn't follow that message.
And that gave birth to Tere d'Ange, where the ichor of angels flowed in the blood of the people who populated the land Blessed Elua and His Companions created. And to me, this is almost theological erotica in the same way that the Song of Songs which is Solomon's can be seen as both sacred writ and classic erotica.
5. What currently makes you the happiest? Seeing my friends happy, holding and playing with my daughter, and spending time with those I love.
