patgund: Knotwork (Make Sunshine Come Out of my Butt!)
With all the flap by the co-called "Swift Boat Veterans for 'Truth'" and their charges against Kerry, another voice has decided to speak up.

That voice William B. Rood, who was the commander of swift boat PCF-23, which, along with Kerry's PCF-94 and PCF-43, which was the operation in which Kerry won his Silver Star.

Rood won a Bronze Star that day as well, and he and Kerry are the only 2 surviving officers from that incident. Now a editor for the Chicago Tribune, he's not wanted to talk about this day to anyone, even reporters from his own newspaper. However, with the charges against Kerry, he has decided to break his silence on this matter, and openly refutes the charges of the "SBVfT" group in regards to this incident.

Anti-Kerry vets not there that day

"There were three swift boats on the river that day in Vietnam more than 35 years ago—three officers and 15 crew members. Only two of those officers remain to talk about what happened on February 28, 1969.

One is John Kerry, the Democratic presidential candidate who won a Silver Star for what happened on that date. I am the other."

Figured some might be interested in reading his story.

patgund: (Hello Kosh)
Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] lapiskelinia, who seems to actually do a show on this station, (and I don't know if it's regular or occasional, otherwise I'd plug the show for you), I have an internet radio station that iTunes at work is now stuck on.

Thankfully.

For one of the most eclectic mixes of music, (and one that plays like my iPod playlists!), point your browser, iTunes, or Windows Media Player, (or whatever tool you use for Internet Radio) to these wonderful people:

Redhawk Radio

(also)

SWCast.net : 108.1 KRED RedHawk Radio

Have fun!

(on edit: [livejournal.com profile] lapiskelinia confirms she's got a regular show on Wednesday from 9 to 11 CST, (7 to 9 PST). If I remember, the name of the show "Big Eyes, Bigger Tentacles" or something to that effect. And thanks to last Wednesday's show, I now have to hunt down a copy of "A Deus" by Noriyuki Iwadare......)
