I sit here in Doha, watching BBC World Service reporting on the destruction in New Orleans, and just read in one of the local English-language papers that the Iranian Government has offerend humanitarian assistance and help to New Orleans and the other affected parts of the gulf states.

And recognize what a small world it's become at times.

My thoughts go out to my friends back in the states, (and my friends elsewhere as well), and offers all the zen hugs that I can.

And a special thought to aoniedesade in Mississippi, who told me Sunday that she was evacuating inland. I'm sure she's okay, but I still worry about my favourite glitter pixie.

I miss you all.
