10-15 years ago, if someone would have said that NASA was looking into buying Soyuz capsules for use, I would have wondered what monkey crack they were smoking.

Senate Clears NASA to Buy Russian Spaceships

"The U.S. Senate approved Sept. 21 a bill that would clear the way for NASA to buy the Russian Soyuz vehicles it needs to continue to occupy the International Space Station beyond this year.

The bill was introduced Sept. 15 by Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman Richard Lugar (R-Ind.) to provide temporary relief from provisions in the Iran Nonproliferation Act of 2000 that bar U.S. purchases of Russian human spaceflight hardware as long as Russia continues to help Iran in its pursuit of nuclear know-how and advanced weapons technology."

The Lego sets for "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" are now available

Rescue From The Merpeople

Graveyard Duel (Note: Description says "Includes cauldron for summoning Lord Voldemort!" This is a feature???)

Harry And The Hungarian Horntail

Idiots on Parade. In this case, the idiocy killed a child.

A Mother's Denial, a Daughter's Death

"Christine Maggiore was in prime form, engaging and articulate, when she explained to a Phoenix radio host in late March why she didn't believe HIV caused AIDS.

The HIV-positive mother of two laid out matter-of-factly why, even while pregnant, she hadn't taken HIV medications, and why she had never tested her children for the virus.

"Our children have excellent records of health," Maggiore said on the Air America program when asked about 7-year-old Charlie and 3-year-old Eliza Jane Scovill. "They've never had respiratory problems, flus, intractable colds, ear infections, nothing. So, our choices, however radical they may seem, are extremely well-founded."

Seven weeks later, Eliza Jane was dead.

The cause, according to a Sept. 15 report by the Los Angeles County coroner, was AIDS-related pneumonia."

Jedi Archives Clones Long Room, Trinity Attacks (Irish Architecture Online)

"The above image is a shot of the Long Room Library, Trinity College of Dublin. Or is it? Actually it's not, it's an image of the Jedi Archives in the most recent episode of the Star Wars series, Episode II: Attack of the Clones.

The similarities are obvious, from the arched barrel vault running the length of the room to the double height book stacks. Even the busts and statuary of the Jedi Archive mirror the busts of figures from the academic world in the Long Room.

The similarity was first mentioned in March this year when an online cinema enthusiast site Cinescape.com produced an article on the then upcoming movie. They stated "As it turns out, the Jedi Archive/Library is an almost exact replica of one of the finest libraries in the world - The Old Library of Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland."

I'm a Star Wars fan. *and* a Transfan.

Which is why I think these stink on *both* levels.

It would have made more sense to have the vehicles transform, and have micro-figures in the cockpits. These, IMHO, are stupid.

Saw at a video store the Arabic-Language version of "Teletubbies".

You know, that alone can give some groups enough reason to hate Western civilization.....
