Demonstration on the Corniche at 4 p.m., Today, March 28, 2007
The U.S. Embassy in Doha has learned that a demonstration has been organized for 4 p.m. today, March 28, 2007. The demonstration will begin near the Doha Sheraton Hotel and continue along the Corniche to Al Bida Park. While police are controlling the demonstration and do not anticipate any violence, the U.S. Embassy urges Americans to avoid the Corniche, Al Bida Park, and the surrounding areas before, during and immediately after the demonstration.
Americans traveling abroad should regularly monitor the U.S. Embassy in Doha's website, http://qatar.usembassy.gov, and the U.S. Department of State's travel website at http://travel.state.gov, where the current Worldwide Caution, Middle East and North Africa Public Announcement, and other Travel Warnings and Public Announcements can be found.
