Spanish town votes in Elvis flares and nude pool

"Council meetings in Reus could take a turn for the bizarre after the northern Spanish town voted in a councillor who promised to turn up dressed as Elvis Presley and wants to turn the square into a nudist pool.

Ariel Santamaria, a former postman, stood for a small independent party dressed in full Elvis regalia complete with sideburns and won enough votes last weekend to take a council seat.

It remains to be seen how other parties will take his proposals for Reus, a town of 100,000 people near Barcelona.

His platform included plans to paint the town hall pink, plant marijuana in the parks and give the town police global positioning systems to find people who might need a light while rolling a joint."

Well, that was interesting.......

cormac and mysryael were down at Caid coronation this morning. I was watching Little Bit, and the original plan was to go down to SD, so Little Bit and I stopped at an IHOP for breakfast.

Just after ordering, mysryael called. Seems I was called up before the throne......

I confess I could have handled the phone better though. I later apologized to mysryael for my reaction.

After breakfast, Little Bit and I went back to Monrovia, grabbed garb, and headed down to Laguna Nigel. By that point, the past King and Queen had already stepped down. However, thanks to cormac, I was still able to recieve the award from their hands.

I have been awarded the Order of the Dolphin, the first of Caid's service awards. (One that a LOT of people already thought I had for that matter....)

I don't play this game for "boxtops" or such. But I do like the recognition. And this is nice to have been given.

And gives selenesue bragging rights about her protege.......

After we walked out of the store, she said "I want to go into the Disney Store next!"

I told her we just came out of the Disney Store.

She looked puzzled, and and said "I thought that was the Pirates of the Carribean Store??"

She wasn't too wrong either.......
