(Iraqi) Air Force wants Tehran to give back its planes (Gulf Times, Doha, Qatar)

"Iraq’s air force commander said yesterday he hoped Iran would return some of the scores of Iraqi fighter planes that flew there ahead of the Gulf War in 1991, but conceded many of them were probably beyond repair.

Lieutenant-General Kamal al-Barzanji is eyeing the aircraft, which were flown to Iran to escape destruction, as he slowly rebuilds Iraq’s shattered air force with American help.

“Until now we have not brought back any aircraft. This case belongs to the politicians,” he told a news briefing in Baghdad.

“But we hope we could bring back some of these aircraft to Iraq,” he said, adding that only a few would be salvageable.

Security information Web site GlobalSecurity.org estimates that half of the air force fled to Iran in 1991, just three years after the end of the Iran-Iraq war, rather than confront Coalition planes."

Tip, if one is a Starfleet "Red Shirt", the survival tip is simple: Make sure the Captain gets some alien nookie first.

Analytics According to Captain Kirk

"Q: What factors could increase/decrease the survival rate of red-shirted crewmen?
Besides not getting involved in fights, which usually proved fatal, the crewmen could avoid beaming down to the planet's surface, which is inherent to their end. However, that could result in a court-martial for failure to obey orders.

Besides not beaming down, another factor that showed to increase the survival rate of the red-shirts was the nature of the relationship between the alien life and captain Kirk. When Captain Kirk meets an alien woman and "makes contact" the survival rate of the red-shirted crewmen increases by 84%. In fact, out of Captain Kirks' 24 "relationships" there were only three instances of red-shirt vaporization.

The caveat to this is when Captain Kirk not only meets the local alien women, but also starts a fight among alien locals. The combination of these events has led to the elimination of 4 crewmembers (3 red-shirts). "

AWWWW!! Poor little Bobby Novak is crying because nobody wants him to play in their reindeer games! And in typical neo-con "I'm the victim, honest!" mode, he blames those big bad nasty liberals, rather than the fact he helped out a covert CIA operative in time of war.....

And now, neither his good friend Karl Rove or any of the "Liberal Media" wants him around. Wahh! Wahh! Wahhh!

Robert Novak's very sad story

Note the last paragraph:

"In an interview conducted just days after Rupert Murdoch purchased the Wall Street Journal, Novak declared that the news media is overrun by liberals and that it's pretty much impossible for conservatives to get jobs in journalism anymore. "What I tell them is to go in the closet: don't tell anybody you're a conservative, don't tell a soul, because you're not going to get the job, and you're not going to get advanced," Novak said. "You just say you have 'no political leanings' ... because a conservative label on someone would really be an impediment to their careers.""

SINCE WHEN???? They dominate TV news, they own 90% of the radio waves, why the hell would it be an "IMPEDIMENT"????

Tell you what Novak, try peddling your sob story to all those CIA agents and sources who had their cover blown or damaged because you wanted to help your "good friend" Karl Rove. I'm sure the butt-kicking your treasonous backside would get would be VERY entertaining.
