patgund: Knotwork (Knotwork)
Several years ago I read about the bridge stubs and "ghost ramps" connecting WA-520 near the western start of the Evergreen Point Floating Bridge, to what would have been an expressway that was never built.

A couple days ago, I got to see them for myself.......

One wonders how the Daleks and Cybermen fit into this, theologically speaking...... Not to mention the fact that the Doctor has died to save others.....repeatedly.

Dr Who fans will flock to his church

"A CARDIFF priest loves Dr Who so much he is preaching to his congregation through the Time Lord.

St Paul’s Church, in Grangetown, Cardiff, was used as a location for an episode of the first series of Doctor Who starring the ninth Doctor played by Christopher Eccleston.

And parish priest, Father Ben Andrews, 32, says he loves the cult TV show so much he thought a themed evening would go down well with the youngsters.

He said: “I love the series and it has such a great following that we couldn’t resist doing something for young people on a Dr Who theme.

“We will be looking at the idea of Jesus as a Lord of time and showing who Jesus was and the different images of him throughout time."

‘I’ve stood around too long’ - Central Kings students wear pink to send bullies a message

"Two students at Central Kings Rural High School fought back against bullying recently, unleashing a sea of pink after a new student was harassed and threatened when he showed up wearing a pink shirt.

The Grade 9 student arrived for the first day of school last Wednesday and was set upon by a group of six to 10 older students who mocked him, called him a homosexual for wearing pink and threatened to beat him up.

The next day, Grade 12 students David Shepherd and Travis Price decided something had to be done about bullying.

"It’s my last year. I’ve stood around too long and I wanted to do something," said David.

They used the Internet to encourage people to wear pink and bought 75 pink tank tops for male students to wear. They handed out the shirts in the lobby before class last Friday — even the bullied student had one."

Students challenge ban on Gothic

"Fifteen-year-old Amaris Mulhauser prepared for school Thursday morning using a thick-black eyeliner to draw tear streaks dripping down her cheeks.

A few hours later, she was pulled out of her Rockledge High English class and told to go home -- the second time this week -- for wearing the Gothic makeup that administrators had warned her to remove.

Amaris is one of about 30 students trying to change the district's dress code policy, which they believe is outdated and curtails their freedom of expression. The students went before the school board this week to argue their case."

Koala sex machine thrills zoo

"A sex-mad koala recruited from Scotland to teach his counterpart in an Austrian zoo about the birds and the bees is finding himself very much in demand.

When romantic music, erotic movies and aphrodisiac food failed to entice their male koala, Bilyarra, to mate with female Mirali, staff at Vienna's Schoenbrunn Zoo sought the help of Edinburgh Zoo's resident stud, Chumbee.

The five-year-old male and his super-active libido arrived on loan in the Austrian capital in March and zoo managers are confident they will soon be hearing the patter of tiny koala paws after Bilyarra started to get in on the action.

"Chumbee hasn't stopped since he got here," said Schoenbrunn Zoo manager Helmut Pechlaner.

"It has been almost non-stop sex in the koala enclosure ever since, and now even our own male is joining in."

Zoo vet Hanna Vielgrader said Chumbee could not restrain himself.

"The only break is to eat or sleep, other than that there's no stopping them," she said.

Several other zoos have been in touch in the hope Chumbee might be able to invigorate their koala colonies."

You know, if they make one as a replica of the Photon Torpedo housing used in "Wrath of Khan", they would make a fortune.....
