Chase ends in crash, arrest

"A City of Poughkeepsie man was arrested Thursday after leading police on a high-speed chase through the city, which came to an end on the lawns of two Washington Street homes.

Officer Garth Mason was on Market Street at 6:37 p.m. when he saw a car, operated by Landocalrissan Butler, 27, of Winnikee Avenue, speeding and moving into the officer’s lane, almost striking his car, said Deputy Chief Tom Ghee.

Mason attempted to pull Butler’s vehicle over, Ghee said, but Butler allegedly did not comply and would not stop his vehicle."

While on the M/V Tillkum this morning, approaching Vashon Island, I hear the following announcement over the PA:

"Attention all passengers, we are now arriving at Vashon Island, the undisputed centre of the universe. All auto passengers please return to your vehicles at this time....."

I think Fremont might disagree with them......

I swear, PETA ranks up there with the Phelps clan when it comes to being hypocritical lying attention whores.....

PETA opposes tribute to fried chicken

"Animals rights advocates are squawking at a measure that would make fried chicken Kentucky's official picnic food.

State Rep. Charles Siler is sponsoring legislation to assign the designation to KFC's "finger lickin' good" chicken, first served by Colonel Harland Sanders in 1940.

The late colonel's fried chicken deserves the title because of the worldwide attention and economic benefit it has brought to the state, Siler said. KFC, a subsidiary of Louisville-based Yum Brands Inc., has 11,000 restaurants in more than 80 countries.

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals bristles at the idea. The animal rights group claims that the chickens KFC serves are abused, even tortured."

I don't much like KFC, but I want to get a bucket or two when I read things like this......
