You know, this story just gets me more angry the more I read it. Was that Wii or special toy or whatever WORTH a person's life??

Wal-Mart Employee Trampled to Death by Customers

"A Wal-Mart employee in suburban New York died after being trampled by a crush of shoppers who tore down the front doors and thronged into the store early Friday morning, turning the annual rite of post-Thanksgiving bargain hunting into a frenzy.

The 34-year-old employee, who was not identified, was knocked down by a crowd that broke down the doors of the Wal-Mart at the Green Acres Mall in Valley Stream, N.Y., and surged into the store. He was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital at 6 a.m.

The police said that three other shoppers were injured and a 28-year-old pregnant woman was taken to the hospital for observation.

One shopper, Kimberly Cribbs, said she was standing near the back of the crowd at around 5 a.m. on Friday when people started pulling the doors from their hinges and rushing into the store. She said several people were knocked to the ground, and parents had to grab their children by the hands to keep them from being caught in the crush.“They were falling all over each other,” she said. “It was terrible.”

Let me get this straight. Tore the doors from their hinges, stampeded the store, trampled someone to death, almost caused someone to lose their baby, and put children at risk.

I would hope the people responsible realize that their brand new gift or toy was paid for in blood. And their "happy holidays" is shadowed by the dark holiday that poor person's family will have. But seriously, I doubt some of those people will even care that their shopping mob killed someone.

2 men die in shooting at Toys 'R' Us in Palm Desert

"Gunfire erupted inside a busy Toys "R" Us store in Palm Desert Friday morning, leaving two men dead as shoppers scrambled for cover.

The shooting, apparently sparked by a personal dispute between two groups of shoppers, occurred on Black Friday, traditionally one of the year's busiest shopping days, and when the store was crowded with families and children.

Shopper Sara Frahm, 25, of La Quinta said she was in the electronics department shopping for gifts for her 3-year-old daughter when she heard two women fighting and swearing in an aisle next to them. Other shoppers began yelling, "He has a gun!"

Her friend, April Aguilar, 24, spotted a man with a black handgun, near where the women were fighting. Employees were rushing to the area to try to break up the fight when one of the men started firing, Aguilar said.

They heard at least six or seven shots.

"This is horrible," Frahm said. "I'm never shopping on Black Friday again."

Police: Man apparently shot himself in groin

"It’s probably going to be a very unpleasant holiday season for Gerrel Hasley.

The 25-year-old Bakersfield man suffered gunshot injuries to the groin Thursday evening, according to Bakersfield police.

A report of shots fired at 19th and Eye streets came in to police and responding officers found evidence that a shooting had in fact taken place. A call came in soon after from San Joaquin Hospital reporting a gunshot victim, police said.

Hasley was uncooperative when officers tried to interview him, police said. He may have been putting a gun in his waistband when it went off."
