'Twilight' Writer Melissa Rosenberg Takes Over Summit's 'Highlander' Script (Exclusive)

"After taking on vampires in Summit’s Twilight Saga, writer Melissa Rosenberg is tackling a different kind of immortal being: Scottish highlanders.

The scribe is in negotiations to come on board to work on the studio's remake of Highlander. Neal Moritz is producing the project, which offers an update on the 1986 movie starring Christopher Lambert, Sean Connery and Clancy Brown. Justin Lin (Fast Five) is attached to direct. Peter Davis is also producing.

The original story centered on a Scottish swordsman, who discovers he is part of a secret race of near-immortal beings and faces off against an unstoppable barbarian who covets the power gained from there being only one of their kind left."

Dispatches from Birtherstan - 10 February 2011

In today's dispatches, Pam Barnett seems to have problems with reading comprehension. Tennessee comes up with their own unconstitutional birther bill, which gets World Nut Daily's panties all moist. The Pest and eFail continues being whiny on one hand, and advocating sedition on the other hand - which leaves them as prime targets for people who actually understand the concept of "journalism".

Oooookay

Appalling lack of manners though. You're supposed to slap your gloves across their face and have their seconds call upon yours. Geez, where has common courtesy gone???

Collision prompts Sunnyside sword fight

"A hit-and-run collision Wednesday followed by a brief sword fight led police to arrest a 25-year-old man for assault.

About 4 p.m., the Sunnyside man spotted a 27-year-old rival and intentionally rammed his 1981 Ford F-150 pickup into the man’s vehicle as he backed out of his driveway in the 100 block of South 11th Street, said Charlotte Hinderlider, Sunnyside police spokeswoman.

The alleged assailant brandished a sword, swinging it at his enemy, who had climbed out of his own vehicle, Hinderlider said.

The suspect fell, giving the victim time to pick up a machete that happened to be laying in his yard and defend himself from his alleged attacker, Hinderlider said. Meanwhile, the victim’s mother, still in the vehicle, dialed 9-1-1 from her cellular phone."
