Children's Books
Apr. 1st, 2012 10:01 amLet me get this straight -
A candy maker, upset by industrial espionage, fires his entire workforce, causing most of them to fall into poverty and which devastates the entire economy of the town his factory is based out of. He then imports an illegal workforce, holds them as virtual slaves and pays them in food. When he decides he needs a successor, he randomly selects five children, subjects them to physical, emotional, and psychological abuse, and finally settles on a biddable yes man who won't question what he sees and will do what he's told.
Have I got this right?
