Wow! ... And I lived for some time amongst that culture, being originally from Tennessee. ... and it still doesn't make sense, although I do think I agree with a theory I saw put forth once that the reason that those that believe the notion that the Antichrist shall usher in great tribulation (and that the Antichrist is a single entity) believe that this will happen NOW (read: in their lifetimes) because the alternative, waiting for these events to come to pass or waiting to die, is inherently far less interesting than living in what would be the most pivotal time in the history of man.
