A better shot. I may do hook and eyes at the neck and make ring belts for them later. The leggings and shoes, alas, are built into the doll, so.......

I admit, one of the reasons I like the groovy girls is because they lend themselves to things like this, and they don't look as jarring as a barbie or bratz prostitot doll would at an event, (the GG's look like, well, girls, not anorexic fashion models.)

Besides which, it's a good way to prototype an outfit, blow the rust off my long-neglected sewing skills, and more important than that, it makes a little girl happy :-)

Absolutely adorable. I can't wait till school is done and I have the time to do that for my girls again. Oh wait. At least the older two won't care for that.....the eldest at least is into flirting with the gelato seller at Renn Faire so she can get an extra scoop of icecream for free. *sigh*

But perhaps with the youngest still.....*wistful sigh of a mother with growing-up girls*

Have you seen the Only Hearts Club Dolls? They are very much dolls that look like girls. They are maybe the same heighth (or a bit shorter) than Barbies but they are NOT anything like Barbies or Bratz when it comes to shape and presentation. They're just young girls with great stories, hip clothes that don't make them look like prostitutes and they aren't that expensive. 1cricketsong loves them!
