patgundWell, PatGund's desert travels ended with me driving I-15 to Barstow, (stopping in Baker to take pictures of a couple of abandoned houses. From Barstow I went on Route 66, (Let's hear it for the Mother Road), to Victorville. And, of course, took pictures of abandoned motels, old deserted gas stations, and the the like. Will upload the pictures from my digital camera later in the week and make a traveloge.
Music for the journey provided by my iPod, hooked up to a TransPod to transmit though my FM stereo. Damm. Best non-living travel companion I've ever had.
Stopped in Montclair to spend a few hours with Little Bit. Who is starting to develop actual speech. Her conversation with me on the phone sunday morning went like this.
LB: "Hi dadi I'm two!
Me: "Hello little girl. You're not quite two yet."
LB: "Ok!" (rest of conversation consists of words mixed with 21 month babbling.)
Oh Stratosphere's casino has a Spam-themed set of slot machines in their nickel slots section. Played $5 in them, won $20. Gee, I guess one *can* make money from Spam....... :-)
