It never fails. You go into a mall, and if it's big enough, they'll have some store with these oversized watercolour paintings. Said paintings look like they've been done with paint-by-numbers by someone with eye problems, and all have more lighting than your typical porno set.
Congrats. You just found the store selling Thomas Kinkade and his "Painter of Light(tm)" drek. Showing the same artisic integrity as Donald Trump, Thomas Kinkade has been selling his overpriced dust collectors for years now. And, in much the same way that people collect those too-cute, too tacky "Precious Moments" figurines, they sell like hotcakes to the taste-impaired.
Not to mention commerical tie-ins. Yes, if you actually like his stuff, never fear. You can get t-shirts, jigsaw puzzles, coffee mugs, mouse pads, and more than likely lingre and condoms all marked with his trademarked "Painter of Light" style. Just the thing for the person who wants their home to look like a cheap motel that charges hourly rates.
Just remember this. Ever heard of Ralph Bakshi? Remember his movie Fire and Ice Thomas Kinkade worked on that. This should be a warning.
