Food for thought

"In a written statement, he said he put the family TV in the basement in 1999 after he had
called to get cable disconnected, but soon thereafter, his wife had moved it back and
hooked up the cable connection, and it still worked.
He stated he “made a deal” with her that “she could watch TV as long as the cable
worked.”
He then went back to Charter and asked that they disconnect his service, which they
reportedly never did."

Don't laugh too hard. We had our cable reduced to absolute minimum (14 channels) almost 5 years ago, because we hardly ever watch it, and as a protest at the ever-increasing channel additions/cost. A month later, it was back to "normal" - and they continue to charge us for minimum service. I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop, and it never does. I wonder if it's just easier (cheaper) to keep everyone on "basic" 15,000,000 regular channels than have a handful get the absolute minimum.

That being said, he could always throw his TV out the window. Nobody's holding a gun to his head and forcing him to watch.
