Well, looks like we have another bad movie night line up, with the night scheduled for possibly April 24th around 6-7pm or so. [livejournal.com profile] blackflag669 and [livejournal.com profile] ismarc's house in Lakeside. Hopefully this doesn't conflict with any of [livejournal.com profile] caprine's concerts.

By popular request, I have Volume #2 of Happy Tree Friends.

A request has been made for Jesus Christ, Vampire Hunter. Also on the plate is

The Devil's Rain
Dagon
Barn of the Blood Llama
Supaidaaman, aka J-Spidey

Obviously, which ones will actually be watched will depend on who's there and what the crowd wants. :-)

"Barn of the Blood Lllama" may be iffy though. My DVD player doesn't want to play it. Or is gagging at the attempt and pleading with me for mercy. The company is sending me a VHS copy as a replacement, but they don't exactly have a "on-time" delivery policy....... Hopefully 22 days *should* be enough. :-)

There is also the suggestion of saving "Devil's Rain" for a later date and showing it as a double feature with "Battlefield Earth", as a way of showing both ends of John Travolta's career........

Nope, my show is on the 17th this month. I'll be in LA at a wedding on the 24th, but if I can make it back down here in time for the movies, I'd love to join you.

Two questions

Padraig darling, where *do* you find these little, um, cinematic jewels? I actually attended the First Annual World's Worst Films Festival in NYC years and years ago, but I can tell from the titles you've cited in the past weeks that the genre has--what?--declined? gotten seedier? improved in general trashiness? since then. Whee! I'm not sure I could *do* a current World's Worst (as in, attnd it). But you guys have fun!

Second question: What's the URL to register for the site that you and Angelique recently gacked memes from? (Yes, I'm aware that in some circles "gacked memes" is just *wrong*--but, well, sue me!) I tried to work that addy out on my own, but it didn't work.

Have a great weekend, sweetie!

*hugs and kisses*
Vi

P.S. The phrase "Jesus Christ, Vampire Hunter" made me laugh till I damned near choked and drooled. It sounds like the auteurship of a film-school student more apt to win a Darwin than an Oscar crossed "The Passion of the Christ" with the Anita Blake: Vampire Hunter novels. *ROTFLMAO!* The mental images are *hysterical*!

Well, there are some classic bad flims from the 60's and 70's. But there seems to be a particularly interesting downturn since the direct-to-video market opened up.

http://www.badmovies.org/ is a good place to start looking. :-) Here's their reviews for "Barn of the Blood Llama" and "Jesus Christ, Vampire Hunter"

There's an adult flick a friend gave me, "Orgy in Black", that I joke is like a porno flick from the Anitaverse. (laugh)
