for my family - picking the one fight which could be "enough" helped. I don't really have a clear explanation for what that meant - it's a long complicated story. I do know those people with the vast expectations they give to us without thinking through the costs - they need to be told "no". Whether it be the schools asking for time that only someone independently wealthy could give or the club expecting the kind of commitment that only someone healthy and retired could give ... or whatever. don't know if that means anything - but I know the battle well - er perhaps well enough. my own shape of it maybe.
