Interesting discovery......
Sep. 17th, 2004 10:35 pmRecently I ended up with a copy of The Burning Season by Faith and the Muse.
Not my usual fare in music, granted, but an *interesting* blend of musical styles, everything from Rock to some that almost sounded like they had a torch influence. Very much a listening treat though.
Imagine my surprise with this CD though, when I discovered that the very last track on this disc is a *nice* cover of "Willow's Song" from one my favourite movies, "The Wicker Man". More hypnotic and haunting than the version in the movie - and that's saying something. Sgt. Howie would have had a much harder time resisting Willow if she had been singing this version. A lot lusher and more drawing than the original Paul Giovanni version.
As for me, well, I could *so* enjoy being seduced someday with this song in the background....... (Purrr.........what a lovely thought that!!)
May have to dig up some more albums by them, as money permits.
