Collegium, day 2

Went back to Collegium today. This time though, Violet came along.

This was a major step. I'm still very iffy about my confidence on playing either of my harps in public, but I found that just tuning and practicing scales on Violet helped when I started to feel socialed out and overwhelmed.

Was nice seeing friends, and not feeling like I needed to bolt and run. Maybe this is something I need to do for local events - start bringing Violet along and practice when I start to get nervous or edgy.

Though if I do, I may have to have a sign made that says "yes, it is a purple harp, thank you for asking" made......

But I can tell you anyhow, I'd rather hear than be one.

I've got a fiddle my father made I bring to events and fiddle around. Or I mess with a Bodhran we bought from him. Or a few other bits...

My father also makes harps :)

Anyways - a violet harp? That's COOL! (and probably period too) - people used to be fond of decorating instruments in all kinds of styles. I've seen some REALLY cool Napoleonic period fiddles for instance in some interesting colour combos.
