What the hell????
Sep. 7th, 2005 04:56 pmThis has to be one of the stupidest quotes *ever*
"Everyone is so overwhelmed by the hospitality. And so many of the people in the arena here, you know, were underprivileged anyway, so this, this is working very well for them." - Former First Lady Barbara Bush, talking about meeting some of the refugees from New Orleans in the Astrodome.
Gee, you know, I don't think that losing what little you may have owned, seeing family and friends die, being forced to live in a stadium with no food, water, or power for *days*, then being bused to *another* stadium to live in, all the time wondering if you're ever going to have a job or a normal life again, is a FREAKING STEP UP IN LIFE!!!!!!
In terms of stupidity, this ranks up there with her "beautiful mind" comment.

Date: 2005-09-07 04:30 pm (UTC)Yep. No doubt about it. Mama Bush's concept of what constitutes a silver lining passeth *all* understanding. And the "beautiful mind" remark is equally bizarre. Has anyone checked the former First Lady for signs of senile dementia yet?

Looked pretty clearly like it to me; don't think anyone needs to do anything so involved as check or anything.
(Funny thing, though; didn't know dementia could be passed from mother to son.)
