Well, I'm back home, having just had minor but annoying surgery yesterday. I needed to have a grape-sized, (actually turned out to be larger) spermatocele cyst removed from above and behind my left testicle.
This cyst happens in about 30% of all men, and usually doesn't cause problems or pain. In my case, it did both, and kept getting bigger.
I lost about two hours of my life in the operating room between when the IV went in and I woke up in post-op. However, it's an outpatient, so they sent me home a few hours afterwards.
Oh....My....Gods....I.....hurt. Think baseball bat to just above the groin, as the support ligament to the left testicle is quite sore right now. Vicodan might be my best friend for a few days.
While they're going to run the usual number of tests on it, the doctor said nothing unusual was found. So I get ice packs and painkillers for a few days. Oh joy. And I decided that my ASL class last night just wasn't happening
