I don't know if I'd ever get a piercing, but this so subtlely blurs the line between hardcore and geek, and is in fact a piercing that is useful, that if ever I were to consider a piercing, this would be up at the top of the list.
Wearing glasses myself, I can not see any advantage to them, aside from the 'cool' factor, of course. In fact, there'd be a disadvantage in that the lenses aren't connected so you'd have to put them on one at a time like contacts...
major advantage = no over-ear arms. I hate the feel of those and unless I adjust my glasses to be so loose over the ears that they constantly slip down my nose (and fall off if I whip my head around too fast) they give me headaches.
And before you ask - yes, contacts also give me headaches. My eyes hate them.
