Or, alternately, one could ask what's under the kilt...or simply lift-and-show.

Was asked what was under my kilt at a non-SCA event last year...and I showed them.

Everyone agreed I was quite regimental once the cries of "No eyes! No eyes!" had quieted into faint nonsensical gibbering.
