I realize people have different ways to mark the death of a loved one, but this is....unique.

I'm not sure about keeping one of these on the mantlepiece, but I could see using it for the internment, or as a place to hold the ashes before being spread. Very interesting concept, if nothing else.

a former friend of mine lost her newborn (well, stillborn, to be accurate, if crude), whose ashes were then put in one of these bears.

(nods) At first I thought the idea was just too weird for words, but then I realized for parents that lost their children, it actually makes a lot of sense.

helenkacan has a friend who has his partner's ashes in a giant (as in human-sized) teddy bear. When I was brainstorming what to do with Badira's ashes I suggested a stuffed Siamese but Steve nixed the idea immediately.
