While pulling a fiber channel card out of a G5, I got cut by the blasted thing.

Now I have to figure out what to do with the card. I mean, now that it's developed a taste for blood, I can't just put it up with the rest of the fiber channel cards, it may escape out of the pack and go feral, preying on faculty and students in small, dark corners of the school........

Put it in the NAS. SCSI's got a long history of requiring blood sacrifice to work right, fiber-attached-storage probably demands the same. :)

I have never understood why people seem to think that SCSI is black magic.

There are perfectly logical and technical reasons why one must sacifice a goat to your SCSI chain every third new moon.......

Could you train it? It might make a formidable attack computer. Or something.

You say that like it's a bad thing.

Only because I'm not sure it will leave IT staff alone. Otherwise, it's a win-win situation

Stick a picture of the CIO in the case so it'll imprint on him as a target.

Ah, I see your problem - Would it obey your commands as it was awakened by your offering? One way to find out...

As jeran suggested, when a SCSI device gets its first taste of blood it must then be "terminated", else it becomes a man killer. Probably the same for a fiber card.

I suppose, you might be able to retrain the fiber card by isolating it from others and constraining it to a high "fiber" diet in hopes that it could eventually be re-integrated into the herd.
