Last weekend, a "Firefly" convention was supposed to happen in Burbank.

Supposed to. Because a day or so before hand, the website was taken down, the organizers disappeared, and the hotel - and fans - were left high and dry.

But we're talkin' Browncoats here. And the cast of a show that seems to be just too gorram stubborn to roll over and die.

So the fans got together anyway.

And the cast showed up anyway. Without pay. Just to be with their fans.

Alan Tudyk even brought a box of stuff from the show, giving it to the fans that came the farthest.

Damn shiny of them.

I swear, the cast of that show and the fans of that show can pull off the impossible. Over and over again.

Yea, apparently the niu fen hit the fan when this went down. Booster Entertainment, or whoever they are, are probably going to get seriously violated by an army of litigant fans.

I believe that was Nathan Filliion, not Alan Tudyk, with the box o' goodies. Though there may have been more than one box.

The fan reports said Alan Tudyk. The CNET report said Nathan Fillion. Since one of the fan reports was getting one of Wash's T-Rex figures, I'm leaning towards Tudyk.

But it wouldn't surprise me from either :-)

The fan reports I read said Fillion. Both wouldn't surprise me.

You know the Browncoats i've been hanging out with every other Friday? Those are the ones who "Held The Valley". I was super sorry I already had travel plans out of town but when the plans were made, there was this very expensive con I wasn't shelling out $200 for... things change. Anyway, if you are free this Friday please do come with me if you like.

Damn shiny indeed! I've always figured the cast were an exceptional bunch of people.

Sounds like a wonderful group, on both sides. Sounds also like if the promoters hadn't stiffed everybody, they still might have made out well, without having to worry about "Wanted" posters being printed afterwards.
