(NOTE: Corrected a rather embarrassing typo. These things really aren't my cup of tea......)

Recently I ended up with a copy of the "Ribald Tales of Canterbury" DVD. While adult movies are not my usual cup of tea, (or, at least, watching them alone isn't), I was bored last night and watched part of it.

You know you're in the SCA and/or are a Ren Faire junkie when you start commenting on how the period garb and settings in a porno flick...... It's even worse when you start dinging them for having a 18th century spinning wheel in a scene, or praising them for getting a houplande right.....

Might have been better without the badly-done synthesized 70's do-wop music.

You were expecting historical authenticity in a p0rn flick?

*shakes head, giggling*

Silly, silly Gund. ;)

Might have been better without the badly-done synthesized 70's do-wop music.

Would that have been 1970's, or 1470's?

(Suddenly thinking..."Alas, my love, you screw me wrong; To splay my legs so discourteously; And poke my hole so hard and long; Twas not my orgasm, but fakery..." and chortling endlessly)

(Laugh) Of course not! I was more amused they got as much right as they did. I was even more amused by the fact that I was noticing that *instead* of the bouncy-bouncy parts.

1970's. Though that does bring up the concept of snythesized hurdy-gurdys and electric crumhorns....

Uhm... been there, seen that... *blush*

We were quite amused, as well. Laughing our butts off, actually...

I can imagine. Got this sudden mental image of a triple feature of Knightriders, Knights Tale, and then this as the midnight show......

I can imagine that trio of movies together. Although my picks would be Knight's Tale, Robin Hood; Men in Tights, and the "Ribald Tales of Canterbury". Been there, done that on the critique of the garb and settings in movies that are supposedly in period. I can't count the number of times I've complained that a bra IS NOT period. (At least not THAT style bra. What happened to the wood and fabric underpinnings? *WEG*) "Dammit, she's supposed to have a bum roll with that dress and she's far too skinny. Does she have consumption?" Greensleeves is definitely good period porn backup music though I have been tempted to sing What Child is This just for S&G a time or three. *Hugs* Blessed Be, Angelique
