Back in the days when the Gund used to BBS, he used a programme called "ZTerm" under System 7, then 8, then 9.

By the time he got to OS X though, the BBS days were behind him, and he didn't need ZTerm anymore.....

...what he didn't know is ZTerm lives on as an OS X application

Wow.

So the Gund went off to see other sofware survivors from his BBS days....

First Class still exists, having become business and education conferencing ware.

OneNet seems dead

Telefinder remains in the pre-OS 9 days

As for the BBS's themselves, most if not all of them are long since gone to bit dust

To a certain extent, I miss the old BBS days.

Wow, hadn't thought of BBSing for a long time... I took over a local BBS and ran it into the new millenium. Somewhere I even have a t-shirt from the BBS Awareness group we formed, trying to promote BBSing in the face of the internet.

Sigh. Those were the days...

And, FYI, the windoze term program I used to access BBSes was a DOS program. Unfortunately all DOS programs are NOT supported from Win 2000 on, so that pretty well curtailed what little BBSing I was still involved in...

(oh and the BBS I ran used Telix software)
