An algorithm is a finite set of instructions to achieve a specific outcome. I suppose any dance with specific steps or marching band routine can be called an algorithm.

What gets me is... well, how did they talk nearly a thousand jailbirds into something this whimsical? I guess it's more distracting than just sitting in one's cell. Or maybe whimsy can save the world.
