Though Ireland's is the most artistic, Germany's is the most effective. There's nothing quite like the Iron Cross to tell your enemies "yes, we're much nicer now as whole, but don't forget: we still look quite stunning in our jack boots."
The one thing I noticed about the one from Ireland is, yes, it's artistic, but it
A) Incorporates the Irish Harp -- the national symbol -- in the center, and
B) Looks like some dude is holding a spear.
The 'artistic' aspect is sort of a 'primitive' artwork -- something you'd find on a cave wall. Any culture -- even those unfamiliar with the Iron Cross, Pre-sword technologies, and so forth would recognize the spear.
Which demonstrates the barbarity, and general 'uncivilized' nature of war to begin with.
The Japanese one looks exactly like the icon for a Instant Messaging client to me.
The Saudi one looks like an Airline. Perhaps its truer than we think... The Irish one is artistic, but looks pregnant to me. The Norwegian one just screams "We are a Ministry. Many papers come in, even more papers come out. Please to not submit any papers after 4:30 PM, we will be closed." Lithuania looks exceptionally cool. The Netherlands logo looks like some sort of NGO or Public-Private Partnership that intends to sit on the UN as an observer and do nothing else. If their component armed forces have logos that are equally inspirational looking, I'll assume they're competence comes at the cost of private shame at the marketing campaign they're forced to wear.
