If you think San Diego is bad come up to LA and feel the burn.. ugh! I'm curious to find out how many people have DIED in this heat..

I drove though LA today, cutting though the San Gabriel valley. Monclair was at 116. Ugh.

I got caught in a 20 minute downpour in Corona. Thunder, lighting, and the temp dropped from 110 to 70 in minutes. It was amazing

Weirdly enough, no heat deaths have been reported for California -- several hospitalizations, (some of which had earlier been misreported as deaths) but no mortality thus far. I am amazed that this is so.

Unfortunately, many deaths from heat aren't found until several days post death, when things get more than just a tad ripe. If the end of the week comes and there are still no deaths reported, it will have been a miracle.

*sigh*

please goddess and every other deity, cool things down for a while!

It's the same here...mid-90s which is about on par for Late July or Early August but ridiculous for September!

I was in San Diego last week Wed through this Sunday and it was *lovely* to come back to Santa Cruz and bask in the fog bank :)
